the K01 is the first mirrorless K mount body, so why not compare it to the first K mount DSLR
My question would be why use an istD that's missing all its covers and caps
EDIT; it's also a good comparison to show how far Pentax have come over the last several years.

I'm bewildered by this too. A lot of forum users have never seen a *istD and that includes myself.

The only rationale I can see is that the K-01 is even smaller than the smallest dSLR Pentax ever made.
But so what? It's a flippin' compact, of course it's going to be smaller.
