For those of you who have this brand of lens, which is it and what are your thoughts of the lens good or bad. I ask because I have the 70/300 the least paid by me for any lens yet it never seems to let me down and just wonderd what others who have lenses from this brand thought of theres.May be you could post the odd photo to show your point of veiw.

I have a 17-50 f2.8 and I find it to be an excellent lens in all regards but I spent the money on it so I'm hardly going to say it was a bad decision

I also had a 28-300 for my Canon 300D an have to say that it was a very good performer, sadly now gone, but I would be happy to have a Pentax fit one. I have used several Tamron lenses when I shot film and have never had cause to complain.

Tamron 70-300: Very good, except for excessive purple fringing at high-contrast situations.
Tamron 17-50: Excellent, except my K10D's AF is unreliable with it. (This might be just my copy). ~Pete

To the left of your picture on the TinyPic site there are 5 options; go to the second one (IMG Code For Forums And Message Boads) and copy the line of text below it (starting with [IMG]...) into the body of message over here - that'll do the trick. The better half has a Tamron Di 90mm Macro, she loves it, and it seems to be permanently stuck on her camera!

like all lens makers, they make gems and they make lemons.
I have old Tamron Adaptall 90mm SP Macro and 300mm F2.8 SP lenses. Both are very fine pieces of glass which work a treat with my K10D now that I have the KA mount for them. Back in my film days I briefly owned a cheap and nasty Tamron 28-80 Aspherical, and that was pretty dire. Saying that though, it was very cheap and not unusably bad. On the whole I think Tamron do a very good job making decent quality lenses at a good price. you don't have to be mad to post here but it does help

I have the same two as beginner, or rather had, since the BP has taken over the 28-300 on the Ds
![]() This is one of many taken with it. It was my only lens in Tanzania, and my main lens in America this year. ![]() Damn why did I give it to the BP?? (Maybe because he bought me a K20D

![]() Yes I agree, the 70-300 does suffer from Purple Fringing, but I use PSPx2 which has a PF removal feature, This seems to work fine. Managed to post image, thanks for help there. By the way, Jessops had this lens on offer for sixty odd quid not so long back. Cliff. Cliff. GX10 18-55 and 50-200 kit lenses, Tamron 70-300 |
