My aunty said that she caught it off a toilet seat. She tried cream but it must have been the wrong brand.

McEwans Scotch, Mechanics Arms, Scotswood Road, Newcastle. 1970. had to make it a shandy. Cameron Strong Arm, Can not remember the pub. Hartlepool, 1975. again ended up as a shandy.

Flowers Best Scotch and Ordinary were rank, though their Brewmaster Export was very popular, circa mid 60's. Double Diamond in the Seaman's Club Dubai was undrinkable (early 80's).

Portobello Porter. Rather like drinking a bottle of vinegar mixed with molasses.

Mind you, the worst Scotch Whisky I've tasted (how to start a fight) is Talisker, once wonderfully described by someone as 'like sucking a peat bog through a straw'.

What brilliant descriptions Gareth!

His nibs likes a whisky (Bowmore??) that to me smells of Germolene. I can't be in the same room as him when he has a glass.
