Shaun, you do have some good portraits on your website. Anyway, trying different things out photographic wise is good for us all. some of my lighting efforts are Horror xxx which is why they are not on here, LOL.

I thought no2 was super, but then I just look at the photo and decide if I like it! Eyes , hands and all the rest. The picture as a whole works well for me.

The last one is very good too but us blokes often have a problem admiring photos of men! I am just admiring the lighting , exposure, framing and conversion you understand.

I actually like No. 2, it is different from the norm. I have no idea what a camera club judge would look for, I just know what appeals to me and what doesn't!

It would be boring if we all thought the same.

Not all of us, Bob!

I think the lighting is excellent, but some of the framing seems slightly lopsided to me, Shaun. No. 2 is my runaway favourite, apart from the disembodied hand!!

Me neither, nor would I care! In fact if I was a camera club member I'd probably find it hard to resist trying to upset the apple cart...

Can I borrow it for when we get a fussy judge
Having said that it would probably win

I particularly like the second one Shaun. A very pleasing use of composition and contrast.
Best wishes,

Andrew
