Hahahaha,Darkmunk....I am not sure that I can see any bugs eyes either!!! Thats okay since these are extra small bugs eyes...I better leave the Canadian big eyed bugs out of it.!
have fun; I will be watching.
What's going on with his antennae?
he's definitely a proper 'bug' - I think that eye arrangement is one of the hallmarks of the sort of creature we're aiming for.
Is he a different colour in the spring?

We dont have spring as such here, they say summer and winter but the only difference is the night time drop in temp and less humidity, we dont have leaves dropping and colour change it,s just always green or brown if dry.

Heres a stink bug,
Nice! certainly very informative.
Any more magnification left in that kit of yours Clarky? How do your macro lenses perform on the bellows?
Nice grasshopper eyes 08tiger, lighting is a bit harsh tho'. Is this straight from the flash? I usually bounce the flash off a large reflector hovering over the lens, it is a problem sneaking up on the blighters* but it makes nice 'sky like' highlights.
*focal distance: 50mm 1:7 on tubes - about 1 inch

I'm sure you guys can do better than this!
Have a go!
If you're up for it, go and find a shield bug (they're everywhere) and submit it here.
There's no time limit and the winner is simply the biggest, clearest eye - taken WITHOUT CROPPING.
Straight out of the camera, clean it up, resize the entire frame to 800px, sharpen etc.
