would be interesting to know, how much PP they did on the photos. If none at all, then I think, these are really vibrant images

At the top it says none: "Taken with PENTAX K-01 ( sample model ) & smc PENTAX DA STAR 50-135MM F2.8 . DIRECT JPG FROM CAMERA NO PS . ReSIZE FOR BLOG"

One interesting thing is that a couple of the photos show the K5 wearing what looks to be the new 40mm pancake - I thought I'd read that it wouldn't fit the DSLRs due to the depth of the back of the mount or something?

There's been no mention anywhere I can see that the new 40mm won't work with DSLRs, but there has been speculation that in future lenses might be made that extended too far into the camera to clear the mirror.

Ahhh - my mistake - I had thought that this was the case with the 40mm jobbie.

I liked the colour rendition. The only thing that bothers me in K-01 is lack of view finder. So used to it.

I think they are just a set taken add hock and not meant to be "display" shots.

They just look like a set that could have been taken with one of the DSLRs, which I suppose is the point. We don't want them to look any different and clearly they would fit in with existing kit.

Very interesting advertising strategy, tying in with fashion shots and clothes / accessories ranges, with the camera model and Pentax logo prominently displayed at the bottom.

Did anyone else notice that there appears to be a grip on it?? I haven't seen any reference to it being able to take a grip, don't know if it's a K-01-specific model or if it takes the K5 grip. I suspect the latter as it doesn't real blend aesthetically with the camera finish.

There aren't any pictures of it with a grip.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the gripped K5?

Ahh, I thought it was a K-01 as it had the new 40mm on it and it's silver.

It is a Silver Edition K-5 with a grip, and the 40mm connected. If you look at the picture carefully (there are several of the K-5 40mm pancake combination) you will notice they were made by the K-01 and the DA* 50-135mm telezoom lens (also recognizable by the unsharpness of the focus, unfortunately).
The pictures look ok to me, K-5 level. It also depends on which settings you select to process your photographs and what you do with them afterwards. These look very saturated.

Unsharpness of focus ?
