Hello,
After 6 years and ~25,000 shutters, my trusty Ist DL2 has packed up and won't turn on. Should I be surprised by this? It had been going through batteries very quickly in the past 6 months, to the point where it would say they were empty when in fact they were straight out the packet. Possibly a voltage sensing problem? My experience of having consumer electronics repaired has usually been an expensive one, so it's between doing that (cost unknown) and going for a K-r (local shop has one left). Any opinions? Thanks, Doug

Yes, get the K-r. Whatever difference you might pay vs the repair on your DL2 is worth it. I upgraded from the DL and am very happy with my K-r.

After some deliberation I went with the K-r: and improvement over the DL2 is many times what I was expecting, very pleased with it! Being able to film at 10mm with anti-shake is amazing.
