Both of these items arrived today, i eagerly fitted the grip and tried that flash, all sound for the first half an hour!
with the flash, i get the dreaded "any button will shoot" and the grip wont accept double a batterys, but when i try the actual battery tray, it works? also, my k5 screen is flickering, even without any attachments and the oem battery inside it, any one else have this? i know i put the kiss of death on it buying these, but as a young person, i dont have the kind of money for the OEM stuff! Cheers for any help you guys can offer me! 17 years old with 3 years pentax use! "If In Doubt; Flat Out!" Last Edited by OJS on 09/07/2012 - 20:13

SOLVED IT
with the grip, i didnt realise the battery compartment needed 6 batterys! i just thought the contact springs werent long enough! And the flash just seemed to have a fit on its first try, works perfectly now! Owen. 17 years old with 3 years pentax use! "If In Doubt; Flat Out!"

The Yongnuo YN560mk2 is a superb flash - in great demand here and everywhere else it seems.

Have you tried it off-camera?
I've just got one too, but the only way I can get it to trigger in sync with the K-5 is by setting the K-5 for regular flash (as opposed to, say, wireless) and then setting the flash to S2 mode. All other combinations, the flash goes off but not in sync. ~Pentax K-5, DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR, DA 35mm f/2.4 AL, DA 55-300mm f4.0-5.8 ED, FA 50mm f/1.4, M 50mm f/1.8 - flickr

mine seems to work perfectly in my mode, when mounted and off camera with a wireless kit! just all the regular settings too.
So im unsure whats happening with yours.. maybe youve got the shutter speed past 1/180? because thats the limit it can work at. 17 years old with 3 years pentax use! "If In Doubt; Flat Out!" |
