One of the genuine strengths of this forum is the chance to see pictures taken at places like this. One looks a bit wonky but I like the composition of two and three.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I really like no. 3, with the ducks in the foreground. Superb place, really lush and the terracing of the rice paddies is extremely picturesque.

Another vote for No. 3 - this one could have been even better if the ducks and their watcher could have been just a little closer.

No.2 for me - lush greenery in the foreground and rolling mountains in the background with authentic buildings also thrown in for good measure, its the best of the bunch for me.

I feel that there is so much more here location wise though. Look in the background of the images at them mountains that look pastelly and soft and the way the land has been cut into. I can see some stunning pictures thats begging to be snapped

Beautiful sights! In my 20s I spent a wonderful 4 months backpacking through Indonesia from Banda Aceh to West Timor and had the time of my life. That looks a lot like Bali or east Java?

I likew number 3: could perhaps do with a bit more contrast to get rid of some of the haze.

@Pentaxophile thank you, its really refreshing to go there..

@i-berg this is the closest i could find the ducks to their sleepy master

@gareth i have shot some picture but this 3 is the one that i liked the most! next time maybe some other place

@tim wow! i have the same dream..but havent had the chance..its in west java, anyway do you have the pictures from your adventures?

@aliengrove my shots always been hazy, is it because of the lens? i use smcM 50mm 1.4

Thousands of pictures, but not digital unfortunately (my trip was in 1998!). Also I was a pretty crappy photographer back then, so the only good shots were mostly by accident A few years ago I scanned a few dozen on a really low budget scanner, here is one of a Mentawai tribesman in Siberut. His name is Pilipus:

Perhaps the haze is flare related? Do you use a hood for these shots?

Nr 1. "wonky" may mean that it leans to right. I would even say, it is almost falling.

I have never been to such places and it looks so great - it makes me to wish visiting that part of world.
