I get this with other programs too. I just re-open it and ignore the stupid message 'windows is looking for a solution' it NEVER EVER finds one!

Sounds like a registry corruption, or a broken.dll file. If you have the original disc to hand, firstly delete the existing version from your hard-drive, reboot, then do a fresh install. Once it's installed, immediately update it to V.4.35 - that way you avoid the corruption being carried through to the update.
