Pentax K200 Demise (End of line)

Just found out that the K200 is no more, well, when stocks gone, that is it, new model may be out mid May.
So what is it going to be? Your guess is as good as mine. Or does someone out there know what it is to be

Hi Richard, not sure that the K200 replacement is coming out this May but the new 'K7' is. Apparently it is a sideways and up step from the K20D and is being launched later this month.
I think the mid level (K200D) replacement is scheduled for Autumn.....

Well the much leaked K7 is due to be announced in May.
It has pretty impressive specs if the rumours are to be believed. If that turns out to be the replacement for the K200 then God knows what they'll top it with for a K20 replacement!

From a Pentax dealer this afternoon:-

K200d production stopped and discontinued, no direct replacement.
K-m still in production, no change.
K20d still in production but going to be the 'mid' range camera.
New body to be released in May/june, name not known. This is going to be the top model and, he's been told, is Pro standard.

We'll have to wait and see.

As a side apparently Samsung are keeping the G10 and G20 for the time being, but are looking at a 4/3rds type mount, but not the Panasonic one!
