Pentax MX Light meter

Yes I know another MX question.

How big an area does the light meter read roughly ?

Is it comparable to spot, centre-weighted or matrix metering ?

Centre weighted, as were pretty much all cameras in those days. I actually find the meter in mine is pretty accurate!

You can get the manual from here: link. The password is "Pentax" (case sensitive).

If you use slide film, tip the camera down a bit to exclude most of the sky when metering otherwise it tends to be about 1/2 a stop out. Or meter off the grass.

Off topic, I just got a roll of slide film back from my ES I picked up on ebay a little while back. I am pleased to say the metering is spot on, and the 135mm SMC Tak looks very nice too. I'll try and scan some images.
