So, I've just had a reminder that my Flickr Pro subscription has expired and needs renewing...

Before I hand my cash over for another year, what's the feeling around here on alternatives? The majority of people who view my photos online are those I know but I do like that anyone can come across and comment on my public photos so a reasonable sized community would be good.

I've got a free Photobucket account after seeing good reviews but I'm not entirely convinced yet of its UI.

Opinions? Any other sites I should be looking at?

I'm not familiar with interactivity on Photobucket - but I dont really use it that much anyway. I like Flickr, but I think it's "lost its way" a wee bit in recent months.

I quite like Panoramio. (No upload limit, free, and a reasonable interface)

I think on average I get more views/comments on Panoramio than I do on Flickr so the community must be a reasonable size.

The discussion groups aren't as good as Flickr's, but you don't need to be a pro member to get full access to Flickr's groups.

I still like flickr and like the flexibility of setting different permission levels for who can see what and still like the interface... was better before recent changes but still like it

Not as simple as Flickr certainly and different sizes are not available.
If you click on the photo, you go into a slide view mode, here there is a button to view original photo if you click on that you can save the image url which can normally be posted with 'IMG' tags:
