Hi, I recently purchased second hand a DA 50-200mm. Using this on a *ist DS I find that (in Av mode) the aperture is not displayed and the autofocus doesn't work - anyone else with experience of this? Unless there's a fairly straightforward fix I'll have to return it.

Try cleaning the contacts on the camera mount and the lens mount, using a soft, dry cloth to remove any traces of dirt or grease.

Then remount the lens, making sure it seats positively with a click.

Also, check the AF lever on the camera is firmly set to AF and not caught half way between AF and MF.

There is little else to be done, so if that doesn't work it may well need returning.
Best regards, John
