For some reason most Sony remotes work with Pentax cameras. I have several Sony remotes, including a handy small one, which all operate the shutter remotely with my K-r

As it is a wired controller I expect that it would. I have a very similar device that I bought on eBay for a fiver and it worked fine on my K20D, K-7 and currently K-5.
I think there were problems with a similarly cheap IR controller. Archie

I have one on order (along with their wireless remote) and it should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. I think that any body with a 2.5mm stereo socket should be OK - mine is for a K20D. If there is a problem, then I can use it to adapt a spare "F switch", so it had to be worth a punt. Geoff Sleep is an inferior substitute for good coffee. I have the following which works great on my K10D. Has the advantage over the one you linked to of a built in timer.
If your camera as the same pins settings (probably) then I would imaging it would work OK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Timer-Remote-EZA-C1-Pentax/dp/B003VI5E3Q regadrs Bernard

My 7dayshop remote arrived just a few minutes ago.
It works. The button is very sensitive when trying to do the half-press to focus, and it seems too easy to go straight through to the full release. This could be just me, The sensitivity does not worry me, as it will likely be used with long manual lenses, prefocussed on a bird feeder (or similar things). I will be trying the wireless remote out later. Geoff Sleep is an inferior substitute for good coffee. Bodies: K20D, MZ50, P50, ME Super, Lenses Digital: 18-55 & 50-200, KAF: 35-70, 28-80. Quote: Cheers Geoff, let us now how the wireless works And the answer is that it works, straight from the box. BUT It only does the shutter release. Half pressure fires the shutter, and there is nothing left for full pressure to do. In theory, the units have 16 channels available; in practice, the switches to set them are under a clear plastic cover - you can see that they are the same setting, but you can't change it. The 7dayshop infrared is something I have not got to work, yet, This may be due to my test surroundings being dark enough to need the flash, or it may just not be any good. Still, I have had enough trouble setting up infrared on computers and printers to know that it is not a very exact science. Time will tell whether I wasted nearly three whole £££. These RF-602's link are very good as a shutter release. They have red and green LED's that light up to show half and full press and work up to about 100M.
To change the channels you have to destroy the plastic cover over the switches.... not really a problem Pentax K-5 and some other stuff Algi Last Edited by Algernon on 27/09/2011 - 09:26

Further to my post above (26-9-11).
Both the 7dayshop remote releases do give autofocus just before release. This is on my K20D and on the K7 belonging to chrisinkpen. Comparing the wired remote with both the genuine Pentax one, and an"e-bay special" that Chris bought, suggests that the Pentax release is visibly of better quality, with the 7dayshop release being better than the e-bay one. The 7dayshop release does have a longer cable than the others - and this could matter if one is trying not to be seen by birds. Geoff Sleep is an inferior substitute for good coffee.
