Any guesses as to the going rate for these? No completed sales on ebay to give me a clue.

Thanks, Kris.

Not sure Kris.
But if the SMC-Tak M42 screw 85mm F1.9 is anything to go by, shop resale is around £250. Fleabay will probably be less.

I would suspect that the 20mm will be more, purely on rarity value.
Digital - K-5, K20D, K10D, *istDS. Film - MZ-5n, MZ-50, Spotmatic F, SV.
Many lenses both K-mount and M42. Many Bags, Interfit strobes and constant. LR3 and CS6.

I pais 125GBP for my 85/2, but that was around a year and a half ago. I think that was at the lower range of what it goes for. I'm not sure about the 20mm.

Are you buying or selling?

In Edinburgh there's a camera shop with an 85/2 in the window. It's been there for years, presumably as they want 345 quid for it...

I don't think even the K85 would fetch that much. The M85 is one of my favourite lenses, I'm surprised you don't have one already TBH, given your considerably manual lens collection and use of 35mm film.

The 85mm f/2 is the most underrated/underpriced lens on the planet
Sharp enough at f/2, but razor sharp at f/2.8 onwards. Much better than
similar FL's.

If you can get one for £125 it's a bargain.

That's the one. I had one for a bit - it was very scratched though so it cost me about 110.00 (sold it for 130.00 )

Excellent little lens.

Excellent little lens.

I've got one of them and that's more than I paid for it new in Hong Kong in 1980 and it still looks pristine to meno intentions of selling it though

I'd suggest about £150-200 for the M20 and £125-200 for the M/85.

Both excellent lenses (especially on film) - and no, mine aren't for sale!

Worth considering the Rokinon 85/1.4, great quality apparently - but much larger and heavier. Sigma 10-20mm is good - but digital only, if that's all you're going to use them on?

Thanks to (a) nice people here buying my excess kit and (b) no one in St Albans being into manual Pentax glass, I have managed to scrape the funds together to buy these two lenses from a local camera shop at £95 each. Given the prices quoted by people here that seems a good deal, especially from a dealer. I've tried the M85 and am suitably impressed. I've only had the M20 a few hours. The most impressive thing about it so far is that it is the same size as an M50/1.7, i.e., tiny!

Thanks all. Kris.
