Hi Everybody,

Just discovered the Pentax User site this night!
Fantastic !
Last year I bought a LX (old dream realized) on the Bièvres market very well known in France. First hand, apparently perfect in its box. Huge mistake, having no batteries, no User Acceptance Tests (as they say in my company).
As soon as the batteries were put inside, bad surprise, the leds are always on, impossible to switch off. I made one film just to check the light analysis and aperture: no problem.
I brought th body to a repair store that told me it was the ISO circuit that was out of order! Apparently spare part not available. Is it something well known on the LX?
I look forward to have some news.

Hi,
Are you sure the led's are on all the time. Once switched on, they should remain so for some time and then go off. I must admit I have never heard of an "ISO circuit" as such. If you want a copy of the manual, look here http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/mf/mfmanuals.htm If you still have a problem with the camera, I would try Robin here http://www.harrowtechnical.co.uk/

Kim;
Many thanks for the addresses.
Indeed the leds remain on and I have wasted twice the batteries.
I will keep you posted.
Merci

Hi Reza,

does anyone here know if the particular part(s) are the same as any of the other pentax bodies? You could try here.. (there weren't any LXs at the time of posting, but several different models were available.

http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&from=R10...

I just put the string "pentax spares" (without the quotes) into the search engine at ebay, and people are selling duff bodies for a quid, and a fiver postage. Obviously you'd need to ask exactly which bits still work etc. but it may be a way to get the parts required, if indeed they're compatible.

Your repair shop might be happy enough just to swap them over. They won't guarantee the parts, obviously, but for that price, if they work when fitted, they should work for quite a while.

Hope that helps,

Cheers

I would be wary of parts on Ebay and Robin has a reasonable stock of spares anyway.
