Guys

Put the 50 135 on the MZ6 tonight and wondered what results might be like? Am i going to get heavy vignetting?

We'll look forward to finding out! Some of the DA lenses do seem to cover the 35mm format, but they are not marketed as such.
Best regards, John

I just tried out the 50-135 on a full frame digital camera (with an adapter). It is just about full frame at 135mm; bit of light vignetting. Below that there are some pretty seriously black corners - the image circle below 135 clearly doesn't cover full frame. That said, if you use the centre of the frame and crop the corners off the end result you might get some neat results... It's a top lens; would be interested to see the results

Ten years ago I tried the DA16-45 on a Z1... it's not bad. Vignettes at wider focal lengths, but not by a huge amount.
At 20mm there's pretty much no vignetting.
At 16mm the hood is visible, and removing the hood gives a little more room - probably allowing down to around 18mm.

If you want to see, I can probably put them online...

Somewhere there is a thread where someone used a DA 18-55 on film and was not bad. I think the DA 35 (plastic) works on film.....

It's not a DA designation, nor is it by Pentax. One of the best full fame lenses that WOULD have the DA designation if it were made by Pentax; is made by Sigma - the Sigma EX 24-70 f2.8

Also one of the more costlier lenses; certainly very heavy and quite large. Nothing quite like the 82mm front filter

I have tried ALL of the current FA's out on film cameras such as the: Pentax LX, Pentax MX, and even a Ricoh PK body. They all work perfectly.

Too bad there are not more FA lenses on the market. Even if they had to have a minor redesigning of outdated lenses
