Just to remind everyone that there remains a small corner of the West Country which is still green and pleasant. The local kids are furious!

Any excuse to get out and use that camera... These are all JPEGs, when I get the hang of using RAW, I hope the quality will improve. You're not going to see a great improvement in quality. RAW really only helps when you get the exposure wrong (though sometimes it's impossible to get right, when a scene is very contrasty).
But if you do get the exposure wrong, as I tend to do too often, then RAW really helps. G Keywords: Charming, polite, and generally agreeable.

By the way, you do have a good eye for patterns.

Excellent composition on the "walking the dog" shot.

Tension and Walking the Dog are rather good Andrew! Slightly burnt highlights on Tension but even so I like it very much indeed.

G Do you mean there won't be a step-up in detail and dynamic range? My main reason for fussing about this is the number of reports I've read in old magazines and on the net which suggest the K10 only produces its best when most of the processing is done after the fact, rather than in camera. Hi Andrew
Nice shots again, number 1 is my favourite. I stand to be shot down here regarding raw/ jpeg - it would seem that some believe that by version 1.30 (or maybe before) of the firmware the jpeg issue is not there any more. Personally I can't really comment as I uploaded v1.30 not long after having the camera and as I broke my leg about 2 weeks after getting the camera it did not see much use for the next 10 weeks However, I always shoot in raw, I would not go back as it really does have flexibility that a jpeg does not Depends on the software though, apart from susnets I find photoshop the most suitable as a personal preference. I think I can live with the burned highlights in Tension. That definitely ticks the boxes for me.
I think Sundown would come second, except that I can't live with those burnt out highlights...yep, I'm a hpocrit! I do like the placement of the empty bench looking towards the trees. I thik I'd also clone out the branches in the top left corner Getting there! Tunnel and walking the dog are my two favourites. The snow melted here but the hoar frost has been one of the hardest and prettiest I have ever seen. It was -7 here this morning, very rare for Hertfordshire.
