Pentax appoint Intro2020 Ltd as their sole independent distibutor in an attempt to better serve independent photographic retailers.

UK Press Release:
In light of an extremely challenging marketplace, and to retain and grow market share whilst cementing long-term relationships with retail partners, Pentax UK continues to make strategic changes to its business. To augment recent structural changes made to the internal organisation, Pentax has also re-evaluated its channel strategy, which has resulted in the appointment of Intro2020 Ltd as Pentax's sole independent photographic channel distributor.

To remain competitive and maintain its integral position in the UK's photographic landscape, Pentax has a clear responsibility to staff, customers and retail partners alike to move forward with the changes necessitated by the market. The company is now extremely well positioned to offer the best service in moving large quantities of product through specific channels. To this end, Pentax has taken the decision that the demands of the independent community - those of rapid delivery service and dynamic pricing - will be best fulfilled by Intro 2020.

Phil Williams, divisional manager, Imaging Systems, Pentax UK, comments: "Intro 2020 is the ideal choice to serve the business needs of independent retailers, offering unrivalled levels of expertise and experience in satisfying the needs of this market sector. This will also ensure a uniformity and consistency of service to the benefit of both retailers and customers."

"The independent community continues to play an important role in Pentax's distribution strategy, having supported the brand in the UK for over 25 years. We will work to further cement our relationships with this community and provide as much help and assistance as we can in ensuring our product and service support is second to none. As Pentax continues to grow in the UK, our focus will remain on developing and marketing leading edge optical devices," Williams concludes.
