The new Optio T30 from Pentax offers style as well as substance. Digital Shake Reduction and face recognition auto focus (AF) and auto exposure (AE) features compliment an ultra slim body, the power of 7.1 megapixels and the usability of a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor.

Major Features

Easy-to-view 3.0-inch LCD monitor
The Optio T30 is equipped with a high-resolution, 3.0-inch LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 pixels that enables images and menu text to be displayed clearly.  The monitor also has a wide viewing angle of
approximately 170° from all directions, making it easy to confirm images, even when looking at the monitor diagonally.

Shake Reduction function
(1) Digital SR (Shake Reduction)
A mode that reduces camera shakes and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, to as high as the ultrahigh sensitivity of ISO 3200, to match the brightness of the subject. This enables photography with fast shutter speeds, and images with less blurs can be obtained.
(2) Movie SR (Shake Reduction)
An electronic shake reduction function exclusively for capturing movies, which effectively corrects distortions in images due to camera shakes through software.

Face Recognition AF & AE function
The Optio T30 is equipped with a Face Recognition AF & AE function that automatically detects and focuses on faces, regardless of where the people appear in the photo frame. In addition, optimal exposure settings are automatically conducted so that the areas with faces are not darkened even if there is backlighting.

One of the Smallest and lightest in its class
By using a new type of battery that is thin and high-performance, as well as adopting the sliding lens system, which is a lens mechanism unique to PENTAX, the Optio T30 realises one of the smallest and lightest compact bodies in the class of models equipped with a large, 3.0-inch LCD monitor and 3X optical zoom. Housing the lens in two steps in the lens cylinder reduces overall lens thickness, thereby minimising body depth.

Excellent image quality
An upgraded 7.1 effective megapixel resolution delivers images with exceptional definition. The camera boasts the well-regarded smc PENTAX lens, which renders clear, high-contrast images, while our unique lens coating cuts out ghosting and other artifacts. And the Optio T30's superb image processing technology produces vivid colors and creates smooth tonal expressions at all brightness levels.

Touch-display control system
Various functions can be set and entered easily, due to a touch-display control system where operations can be made by directly touching the icons on the LCD monitor.

My Drawing mode for easy picture design
The Optio T30 comes with a My Drawing mode, which lets you enjoy customising your shots. Using the included stylus pen, you can create your own original picture by writing directly on the image shown on the monitor or adding a stored illustration with the Stamp function. The camera also has a function for storing your favorite photos as original stamps.

Auto Picture mode
The Auto Picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Program modes and choose the optimum settings for each subject. This PENTAX original function makes photography a lot easier for users since it eliminates the necessity of selecting a number of individual settings.
